JAMMU, Aug 24: The appointment of controversial former Registrar as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Vice Chancellor of Baba Gulam Shah Bhadshah University (BGSBU) has raised many an eyebrows over the decision of the Vice Chancellor.
Sources informed Early Times that after nearly fortnight long agitation of students of BGSBU, the administration had conceded their demand on Saturday and removed MR Choudhary from post of Registrar. "But surprisingly, instead of simply ordering the attachment of MR Choudhary with VC office, the VC IA Hamal reportedly appointed MR Choudhary as Officer on Special Duty (OSD)", sources said. They further added that the decision of appointing MR Choudhary as OSD augur well with student community, who on Monday once again took agitational path and staged noisy protest demonstration.
"It is a great trick played by administration with student community by appointing the mastermind of scholarship scandal MR Choudhary as OSD to VC. MR Choudhary on Monday once again reached BGSBU campus in the official vehicle of Registrar, which infuriated the students", sources said.
They further said, "What is outcome of nearly a fortnight long agitation of students. It seems VC has some compulsion, which is restricting him to take any decisive action against MR Choudhary, otherwise it is the first instance when an action like appointing on same important post is taken."
Sources further alleged that VC has not been leaving any stone unturned to save MR Choudhary from any action. "The delay on part of Special Investigation Team to submit the scholarship scandal report, can be seen through the prism of delaying tactics", an official pleading anonymity said.
