APSCC expresses regret over cancellation of NSA talks | | | Jammu, Aug 24: All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) expressing regret over the cancellation of talks between National Security Advisor (NSA). Committee Chairman, Jagmohan Singh Raina said India and Pakistan have missed a golden chance to make some headway in the peace process. "It seems that Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif are not in control of the situation. The decision to call off the talks was taken by people who consider themselves as above the heads of the respective countries", Raina said. They further said that people of Jammu and Kashmir who are the real stakeholders to the issue are never consulted before fixing any meeting or cancelling the same. He said that people of state cannot be driven by elements who do not want peace to be established between the two neighbouring countries. "Thousands of people mostly youth belonging to the majority community have been killed in Jammu and Kashmir due to the acrimony of India and Pakistan over the past so many decades", they said. Time has come when both India and Pakistan should sit and resolve the issue once for all so that there is an end to the sufferings and miseries of people. |
