Bovine smuggling bid foiled, smuggler manages to escape | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 7: Police today claimed to have foiled a bovine smuggling bid with the rescue of ten buffalos which were being transported illegally towards Punjab while massive manhunt has been launched to nab the bovine smuggler who managed to escape from the spot due to darkness. As per police reports, a Police party of Police Station Lakhanpur on patrolling duty near Maghar Khad bridge noticed suspicious movements below the bridge. "Police party found that 10 numbers of buffalos are being taken by persons namely Maried Ali S/o Faroz Din R/o Village Galak Tehsil Billawar District Kathua in association with two unknown persons towards Punjab via River Ravi on foot, police said, adding, "the trio on seeing the police fled away from the spot taking advantage of darkness. In this connection, a Case FIR No 64.2015 U/S 188 RPC stand registered at Police Station Lakhanpur and investigation of the case is going on. Meanwhile animals abounded are seized while hectic efforts are on to nab the accused persons. |
