| Weak leadership likely to drown BJP in JK | | |

jammu, Sept 7: The lack of coordination and cooperation among the two coalition partners PDP and BJP has not only led to confusion among the political activists of the two parties but also among the people in the state who have many apprehensions about the functioning of the Government.
According to sources though PDP and BJP are two equal partners having 28 -28 members each in State Assembly, but BJP surrendering the post of Chief Ministership to PDP just to taste power in the State has given PDP the status of senior partner in the coalition. The BJP for all practical purposes seems to have surrendered everything to PDP which takes the decisions at its sweet will creating problems for BJP especially in its political constituency, sources added.
Sources said whether it is issue of AIIMS-smart cities, transfer of officers, allotment of portfolios and increasing the tax on Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims the BJP has been at receiving end due to weak leadership. The Party has been taken far granted by the PDP and its Ministers that they never bother to consult BJP Ministers while taking important decision creating a lot of humiliation for BJP leadership in its political constituency.
Sources said PDP leaders either with some malicious intensions or on the instance of some forces are trying to humiliate BJP and make it irrelevant in the State so that in future people will never trust it and this can spell a doom for the Party. But unfortunately the BJP State leadership which deliberately puts a blind eye to happenings just to remain in power for whatever time the coalition can run is blind to the fact that they are axing their cause, sources added.
Sources said that the central leadership of the BJP is also sleeping over the issue knowing fully that the Jammu has been the land where from the Bharatiya Jan Sangh and now BJP started its political struggle and it was due to the sacrifice given by the Party activists on the Dogra land to maintain unity and integrity of the country that BJP came to central stage of national politics and succeeded not only dismissing the Congress at Centre and in majority of states but marginalised it completely.
Sources said the failure of BJP leadership in getting the tax on Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims revoked, take a stand on issuance of Dogra certificates and seek justice for refugees especially from West Pakistan for whose cause party was on forefront when in opposition will certainly harm the party interests in future.
But instead of looking into these important issues BJP leadership is engaged in infighting among themselves to cut each other to size instead of concentrating on real issues faced by the people of the State, sources added. |
