| DSE Kashmir cancels transfers of teachers, directs probe by CEO | | | Sahil Suhail

Anantnag, Sept 7: Director School Education Kashmir, Dr Shah Faisal on Friday last cancelled the transfers and attachments of teachers made by Zonal education officer D H Pora in contravention of High Court orders and asked Chief Education Officer Kulgam to probe the matter.
"All the deployments/attachments made by the Zonal Education Officer D H Pora in contravention of Hon'ble High Court orders/orders of the administrative department are hereby cancelled with immediate effect," an order issued by the Director School Education Kashmir on 4 September reads.
Director School Education Kashmir according to the order has asked Chief Education Officer Kulgam to constitute a committee and probe the matter within a week's time. Pertinently on 28th of June this year Early Times reported that Zonal Education Officer DH Pora Nazir Ahmad Khan, in blatant violation of norms, had transferred as many as forty five Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) teachers to far areas allegedly under political pressure.
ReT teachers; those having allegiance with any political parties in opposition were transferred deliberately resulting sufferings to poor students due to transfer of the teachers in midsession. According to rules, ReT teachers can't be transferred from their respective place of postings even if their services are regularized since their appointment is school specific.
However in violation of norms, the Education Department had transferred as many as 45 ReT teachers and over two dozen teachers in zone DH Pora of Kulgam district from places of their actual postings allegedly on the directions of Minister of state for Forest Abdul Majeed Padder.
According to details available with Early Times, Akhter Jan (ReT) had been transferred from Primary School Rangdab Bangiward to Primary School Batpora K.B.Pora. Similarly Showkat Ahmad (ReT) from PS Batpora K.B.Pora to MS Chachamulla, Hilal Ahmad Dar (ReT) from MS Chachamulla to PS Rangdab Bangiward, Reyaz Ahmad Mir (ReT) from MS Bongam D.H.Pora to MS D.H.Pora, Khurshid Ahmad Mir (Teacher) from MS D.H.Pora to MS Bongam D.H.Pora, Tahira Naseem (Teacher) from MS Galman Nandimarg to PS Hajampora Adpora Nandimarg, Shahzad Ahmad Lone (R-e-T) from GMS Nagam to MS Salamkani, Mohd. Tahir Malik (ReT) from MS G.B.Khull to PS Adpora Khull, Mohd. Saghir (Teacher) from PS Nagam to MS Khuripora Nagam, Mohd. Ashraf (Cont. Teacher) from MS Chogalpora to HS Yaroo, Rohi Shabnam (RRT) from PS Raiwattan to MS Asnoor, Mohd. Iqbal Naik (RRT) from MS Nagnard to MS Dandward, Bilal Ahmad Naik (RRT) from PS Lonepora Nagnard to MS Dandward. Illegal transfers of the teachers had evoked severe criticism. |
