Jammu, Sept 7: A symposium was organized by the Shanti Gupta Center for Women Studies MIER to celebrate the 'World Women Equality Day.' The theme of the symposium was "Role of Women in the Present Society. According to press release, Dr Renu Gupta, Director MIER Group of Institutions was the chief guest, Dr B L Raina, H.O.D M.Ed, Dr Annie Kaul, H.O.D B Ed, Rohnika Sharma, H.O.D B.Ed Special Education and other faculty members of MIER College of Education also graced the occasion. The program commenced with the inauguration of the wall magazine by the chief guest, Dr. Renu Gupta, which focused on "Women and Equality." In his formal welcome address, Dr. BL Raina said the theme of the symposium is quite pertinent as there is a paradigm shift in social and professional roles of women. 5 students of the PG Department of Education participated in the symposium. The students presented their views on the theme. On the basis of the results given by Jury members, Enu Sharma clinched the 1st prize, Savita Manhas won the 2nd prize and Rohit Sharma secured 3rd position. Certificates were distributed to all participants. Monika Rathore, Coordinator SSGCWS MIER presented the formal vote of thanks. The program was conducted by Sapna Chowdhary, a student of M. Ed. |
