JK Govt on toes, ahead of PM's visit | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Oct 24: The Jammu and Kashmir government is gearing up to welcome the Prime Minister Narendar Modi, who is scheduled to visit the state on November 5. Sources told Early Times the Chief secretary B R Sharma is going to convene the joint meeting of government, Police and intelligence agencies officials in coming days . "The Chief Secretary will hold the meeting in next few days probably regarding the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to JK," sources added. They said, "The meeting will discuss various steps needed to to secure the visit of Prime Minister." Sources said that the Police will also present a detailed layout of security grid around the areas where the Prime Minister is visiting. Sources said that the SPG team would visit the state in the next week to finalize the security arrangements for the PM's visit. "SPG will visit the state to review the arrangements and will seek a detailed report on proposal of deployment of policemen. Later the team will submit its report to the Prime Minister's Office," sources said. According to the State government the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jammu and Kashmir on November 5 during which he would inaugurate the second phase of Baglihar power project. Sources said PM is also likely to lay foundation stone of Udampur-Banihal stretch. "The District administration of the Udampur has got a call from the PMO's office that Prime Minister is likely to lay foundation stone of ongoing Udampur Banihal stretch," informed sources said adding that the Prime Minister is also likely to visit Srinagar where he may announce the package for the 2014 flood victims. |
