ARTO's absence at Qazigund post upsets Minister 10/25/2015 12:31:19 AM Saahil Suhail Early Times Report anantnag, Oct 24: Minister for Transport Abdul Gani Kohli on Saturday asked Transport commissioner to initiate action against Assistant regional transport officer Kulgam for remaining absent during the Minister's visit. Official sources revealed that this morning Minister for Transport Abdul Gani Kohli visited Qazigund Toll post and found ARTO Kulgam absent from duty despite having knowledge about minister's visit. "ARTO Kulgam failed to turn up on the Qazigund toll post," official accompanying the minister told Early Times. He said that unauthorised absence of the official irked the minister as the he was scheduled to discuss specific policy matters with the official who has been assigned to check the violations being committed by the transporters and drivers. The official said that the ARTO Kulgam instead of ensuring his presence at Qazigund toll post visited Minister's srinagar residence which irked the Minister. "Minister taunted him for coming to his residence" he added. He said the Minister expressed concern over casual approach of the official at a time when the truckers are committing grave violations of motor vehicle Act. The Minister who later visited Chambalwas area of Jammu region directed Transport commissioner to enquire the unauthorised absence of the official.
