LAHDC Polls: Omar congratulates NC workers for winning 2 out of 26 seats

Early Times Report
srinagar, Oct 24: The National Conference Working President Omar Abdullah who has been tasting defeat since 2014 couldn't believe that his party won two seats out of 26 in the LAHDC polls, results of which were declared on Friday.
Omar today issued a press note to congratulate the party leaders and workers for winning the seats of Turtuk and Lower Leh in LAHDC polls.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said: "It seems Omar was expecting that NC would draw a blank in the hilly region, but his party winning two seats seems to be contrary to his expectations."
He said that Omar and his party were first rejected in 2014 Parliamentary polls as NC failed to open its account in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. Then in Assembly polls NC was decimated and it had to remain content with 15 seats. Most NC stalwarts had to bite the dust. "Omar Abdullah ruling JK like a monarch from 2009 to 2014 devastated the National Conference and results of parliamentary and assembly polls proved that NC, despite being the oldest party of JK, has lost the ground," the analyst added.
He said that Omar congratulating NC for just winning two seats in the hilly region proves that he is desperate and has realized that NC has lost the plot. "When National Conference was in power it didn't pay any heed towards Ladakh and ignored the region. The party unit was recently put back at place in Leh after a gap of 12 years. NC didn't bother to give any representation to people of Ladakh nor did it take any steps to help the down trodden people of the region. When the party lost power it realized that Ladakh is also a part of J&K and it set up its unit after 12 years," the analyst said. "Omar should introspect rather than becoming happy by winning 2 seats out of 26."
