| Senior cop's "proximity" with property dealer irks many in police deptt | | | Early Times Report
jammu, Oct 24: A senior police officer's proximity with a property dealer, who lives in the posh Gandhi Nagar locality here, has become a cause of concern in the police department.
He can often be seen moving with the property dealer in his expensive Fortuner. The latter is said to have finalised a land deal in the city periphery in the recent past, according to police sources.
A day or two after the deal was struck, the property dealer also arranged a meeting of the senior police officer with the land owner, the sources added.
The two came close to each other when the senior police officer was posted as SSP at an important position in Jammu. At present, he was posted in a police wing and had also tried to get posted in the traffic wing of police in the recent police transfers. When he was posted in Jammu, the property dealer was almost a regular visitor to his office. Most of the big property deals were struck by him during the police officer's tenure in Jammu, sources claimed.
Sources said senior officers at the police headquarters "have from time to time expressed serious concern over the level of thickness between the two". |
