Revenue department, police fail to maintain status-quo | Disputed land under illegal possession | | Early Times Report jammu, Oct 24: Once again, sluggish law enforcing agencies have shown thumb to orders issued by court and SDM to maintained status-quo on disputed land in Raya area of Vijaypur Tehsil. According to sources, a piece of land in question was being cultivated by Parshotam Singh, but in-between, Jagdish Singh of same area trespassed and illegally usurped the land. "I had shifted to Vijaypur, last year when Jagdish Singh destroyed wheat-crop, in connivance of revenue officials and raised a temporary shed on piece of land he started residing there with his family", alleged Parshotam Singh, adding that the later the matter was brought into notice of revenue authorities', but no action has been taken so far. "I filed a case before Financial Commissioner, Revenue J&K, and on December 13, 2011, who in his verdict directed ACR Samba to ensure maintenance of status-quo on said land and also initiate enquiry against lower rung revenue officials including Girdawar and others for tempering the record", he said, adding that instead of complying with Commissioner's order, the revenue officials have given free hand to alleged encroacher (Jagdish Singh). "He (Jagdish) had raised, temporary shed in said land and was living there with some members of his family, if I or my family members move toward our land, they use to pelting stone on us", Singh alleged, adding that he was injured, when family of Jadish Singh pelted stones on us. Accusing revenue officials for sheltering the alleged land grabbers, he said that despite repeated orders issued by court, Financial Commissioner Revenue and SDM Vijaypur, revenue officials and police have failed to implement the orders. "Disappointed over poor response at ground level, I met Revenue Minister on July 27, 2015, however, listening me, the Minister Directed Deputy Commissioner, Samba to demolish the illegal structure on the land", claimed, adding that after lapse of three months when minister directed the DC nothing has been done. "The DC Samba was directed by Minister to verify the contents of the application and take appropriate action as warranted under rule and furnish the detailed report to this office within seven days", copy of order issued by Minister reads. The victim is running from pillar to post for seeking eviction of the encroached/ grabbed land. "Despite repeated requests to Police, Revenue department, all is vain as nothing has been done so far", he alleged and added, "My property has been illegally mutated by the land grabbers with the alleged help of Revenue Department's officials. I am running from pillar to post for years, but nothing is happening." When contacted SDM Vijaypur, Rajnish Gupta said that court had stayed that land, so he could not comment on it. "On an application filled by Jagdish Singh, High Court has granted stay on the said piece of land, it is not-possible to do something on said land", he added. |
