JKNPP exhorts people to celebrate Accession Day | | | Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Oct 24: Launching a scathing attack on the divisive forces who are hell bent to disrupt the secular fabric in the State, the Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) has appealed the people to maintain communal harmony and brotherhood at all costs. Addressing a public gathering here today, the JKNPP president Balwant Singh Mankotia said that the socio-political situation of the State had worsened under the present BJP-PDP government. He said that BJP had failed to espouse the aspiration of the people and took U-turns from all the promises doled out to the people of Jammu region before the Assembly elections. He added that certain anti-national elements were trying to create communal disorder in the State for their vested interests and the State government had failed to control the situation which had led to anarchy in the region. He appealed to the people not to get influenced by the nefarious designs of the felons and maintain brotherhood to defeat such forces. Mankotia while describing the importance of the historic Accession Day on October 27, recalled that the State of J&K acceded to the Union of India on 27th October, 1947 and became an integral part of the country. He directed the Panther Party unit to hoist Tricolour at District Headquarters Ramban and appealed to the people to unfurl National Flag atop their homes and shops to mark the celebration of the Accession Day and uphold the National pride and honour. He said that that the people of Jammu Pradesh are Nationalists who oppose and condemn the anti-national elements who had been waving Pak flags in Kashmir. Mankotia exhorted the State government to expedite the work on Udhampur-Srinagar National Higway and provide employment opportunities to the local youth of Ramban in the construction of the project. |
