Two IEDs recovered, destroyed in-situ | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 24: Barely after a day when explosives were recovered from Chingus of Rajouri district on Friday, the security forces today recovered two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) weighing 15 kgs and 8 kgs respectively during a joint operation in Ganai area in Poonch district. "On specific information the troops of 39 RR and Special Operation Group (SOG) of police conducted a joint search in general area of Ganai area in Poonch district and recovered the two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs)," ," an official said while giving information in this regard. Official said that the troops later destroyed the two IEDs on the spot. A case in this connection stands registered with the concerned police station and investigations are on. Here it needs to mention that Security forces claimed to have averted a major tragedy by timely recovery of two kg explosives alongwith detonators near Chingus of Rajouri district on Jammu Rajouri Road on Friday. Defence spokesperson has stated that columns of Ace of Spades Division, while carrying out Road Opening Operation (ROP) towards Chingus discovered suspicious looking poly bag under a culvert near village Chhatiari during the Road Opening Patrol (ROP) and recovered approximately two kgs of explosives with five detonators from bag. |
