JAMMU, Oct 24 : District Poonch lifted the under-19 boys' title in the inter-state hockey tournament, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at K K Hakhu Stadium, here today. In the final, Poonch defeated hosts district Jammu by three goals to one. Manpreet scored two goals while Sudesh Kumar added one for winners Poonch, while Pankaj sounded the board for the lone goal. Earlier, in the semifinals, played today, Jammu defeated district Samba 3-1. Tanish Preet (two) and Randeep (one) scored for Jammu while Varun netted the ball from Samba. In other semifinal, Poonch trounced Baramulla 3-1. Ramandeep (two) and Nazakat (one) were scorers from Poonch while Harvinder Singh scored the lone goal from Baramulla. The title trophies were presented by Zonal Physical Education Officer (ZPEO), Veerjit Bhat. The final was officiated by the technical penal including Jagjit Singh, Mandeep Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Karanjeet Singh and Satinder Singh. |
