NSF lambasts JU VC for failure to streamline evaluation process | | | Early Times Reports
Jammu, Oct 24 : Exposing the lackadaisical approach of the Vice Chancellor of Jammu University towards streamlining the evaluation process and willfully flouting the directions of the Governor, N N Vohra in this regard , the National Secular Forum today urged upon the Chancellor and Pro-Chancellor to take stern action against Prof R D Sharma for his continuous failure on many fronts. Addressing a press conference, Surjit Choudhary while referring data procured through a RTI No.PIO/JU/15/32174 Dated 20.10.15 mentioned that the process of evaluation was plagued in many ways and has gone from bad to worse during the last one year eversince Prof. R.D.Sharma has occupied the chair of VC and sitting at the helm of affairs. He said, "Controller Wing of JU took 94 days to declare 3rd Semesters result of 32 students of M.Sc Botany, 121 days to declare 3rd Semesters result of 03 students of M.A Buddhist Studies, 174 days to declare the 3rd Semesters result of 60 candidate of M.A/M.Sc Geography and as if it was not enough of inefficiency, the University took 181 days to declare the result of 3rd Semesters of 28 students of M.Sc Electronic and 195 days to declare the result of just nine students of 3rd Semesters M.A Kashmiri. He further said that there were many other instances where result of the M.Sc Sericulture, M.Sc Home science, M.Sc Remote Sensing, M.Com, M.A Dogri were declared after 134, 138, 130, 191 and 249 days respectively. However, the University Statutes say that result of the Evaluation must be declared within 45 days but the same is being flouted by none other than JU authorities themselves, he added. He alleged that Vice Chancellor Prof R D Sharma instead of improving the key delivery systems was busy in pursuing vindictive agenda against the scholars and students despite the fact that the Chancellor of the University has directed the University authorities during the University Council meet to streamline the evaluation and re-evaluation processes so that results could be declared on time. |
