| Jammu, Oct 24 : President of the Jammu and Kashmir Ex-Services League (JKESL), Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal, AVSM today informed that this time Brig Rajinder Singh's Martyrdom Day is being celebrated in a big way in which Heroes of 1965 war will be honoured by the Chief Guest, Lt Gen K J Singh, AVSM, Army Commander, Western Command on behalf of the League on October 26 at Brig Rajinder Singh Chowk behind Jammu Secretariat. According to press release, Lt Gen Rajiv Tewari, Goc 9 Corps; Lt Gen R R Nimbhorkar, SM, VSM, AVSM, Goc 16 Coprs; Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, Central University Jammu; Dr. Pawan Kotwal, IAS, Divisional Commissioner Jammu; Maj Gen Kulpreet Singh, GOC 10 Inf Div; Maj Gen Sanjeev Narain, GOC 26 Inf Div; Shri Danish Rana, IPS, IGP Jammu; Th Gulchain Singh Charak, President Dogra Sadar Sabha, Jammu among other dignitaries will also pay homage to martyr. On this 'Balidan Diwas' of Brig Rajinder Singh, light will be thrown on many new facets of the J&K operations which have come to light recently which go to prove the treacherous part played by the British in the great game of attacking J&K for possessing Gilgit Baltistan which was foiled by Brig Rajinder Singh with his 100 gallant Dogras which made it possible for Maharaja Hari Singh to accede to the Indian Union and move of the Indian Army to ultimately save the State.
