| Aryans organizes a seminar on "Civil Engineering-Passion or Profession" | | | Early Times Report
Chandigarh, Oct 25 : Aryans College of Engineering, Chandigarh today organized a seminar on "Civil Engineering - Passion or Profession" at its campus. The renowned Civil Engineer Dr. Ajay Goel, Dean, Baddi University was the key note speaker on the occasion. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges presided over the seminar.
Dr. Goel while interacting with the students said that Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that is dedicated for improving the quality of life through sustainable design and construction. Community, societal, and environmental needs are met through the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of public works and private facilities.
He further said that Civil engineering is considered as star engineering. The dream of building a modern India can be actualized with a team of Civil Engineers who really know their job and utilize their skill to bring modernity to a country on the whole. "These dreams of a country can be fulfilled by the academics only who prepare skilled civil Engineers" he added.
While interacting with the students he shared his experience of higher education in Japan and worked on various research works, motivated youth to impart the best of technological skills to vibrant students who aim to achieve something for the country.
While discussing about the career prospects of the course he said that Civil engineering majors will have career opportunities in industry, government and the private sector. Practice areas include design, construction, project management, consulting, research, and teaching. Dr. Goel appreciated the initiative taken by the college to promote technical and innovative ideas students through their projects and models. It is to be mentioned that Dr. Goel has the experience of more than 25 years in the field of teaching, education and industry. He is Ph.D in Environment Engineering from Tottori University, (Japan) and Master of Civil Engineering in Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engg from Punjab University. He is working as the Dean at Baddi University. He has also worked in MMU and LPU. He has the distinction of being on the elite panel of International Consultants Team of PES Kenchiku Kankyo Sekkei Ltd, Nagoya (Japan). |
