Early times report
Udhampur, Oct 25: Condition of most of the link roads in district Udhampur is so pathetic.
The link road of Phangial area which runs between Trikuta Floor Mill and joins the National Highway near Kalara College, has pits spread all over.
Ram Lal, a local said, though he lives at a distance of 3 kms from the Udhampur town, it seems the distance is more than 50 kms. Another local, Ganesh Kumar had a similar story to tell. Ganesh informed that it becomes a challenge for them to send their wards to schools during rains."Many times our children fall in the pits," he said.
The locals have threatened to stage a sit-in on the National Highway in protest against the concerned authorities if the road is not repaired soon. MLA Udhampur who is also MoS Finance, said that within few months the work of black topping the road will start.
