Due to pressure of separatist groups, BJP Ministers skip RSS function | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 25: Pressure of Kashmir centric parties yielded results as none of the BJP minister or Member Parliament (MP) attended today annual procession of the RSS. Earlier all BJP leaders used to participate in the annual procession of the RSS because RSS is political mentor of the BJP and affiliated organisations. Fearing that joining RSS will be annoyed Kashmir centric parties including coalition partner PDP, so all the BJP ministers deliberately skipped today's annual Dusheera function of the RSS. Most of the BJP ministers were in Jammu today but they never bothered to attend today's function. One can understand that BJP ministers may have some compulsion in joining RSS function but two Member Parliament of the party also missed today's function. Credible sources in the BJP said that a group within in trying to maintain distance from activities of RSS because this group wanted to maintain a distance from fundamentalist groups like RSS to develop their liberal image. Important to mention here that National Conference on Saturday termed the armed procession taken out by RSS through Jammu city as a dangerous manifestation of Mufti Sayeed's sell-out to the BJP and said the procession was taken out with tacit approval from the Chief Minister and PDP. NC General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, while condemning the open patronage to the divisive vigilantism of RSS by the Mufti Government, said such brazen display of armed aggression in the heart of Jammu was clearly aimed to intimidate and sow seeds of discord and animosity in the State. The NC General Secretary said the heavily armed RSS procession through Jammu city was a departure from the norm in terms of the aggression and the weapons on display and that this could be taken as an open threat by the organization to religious minorities in the city. Not only NC, all Kashmir centric parties including Hurriyat Conference and Sayeed Ali Shah Geelani have opposed RSS function in Jammu. |
