Ceasefire violations by Pak mar resumption of dialogue | | | Early Times Report Jammu, October 25:- If the level of ceasefire violations on the IB in Samba sector during the last two days is any indicator, the chances of resumption of Indo-Pakistan dialogue continue to be bleak. New Delhi has conveyed to Islamabad and even to Washington that if Pakistan wanted to resume the bilateral talks it has to first of all stop using the soil of Pakistan for exporting terror to India, including Jammu and Kashmir state. Two villagers on Sunday got injured as Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire again, targeting 14 Border Outposts (BoPs) and border hamlets in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. "Pakistani Rangers resorted to unprovoked firing on BSF posts along the IB in Samba sector from late evening hours last night", a BSF officer said on Sunday, adding that BSF troops retaliated effectively to the firing with equal calibre weapons. The Rangers fired on 14 BoPs of BSF along the IB in areas in Samba sector, he said, adding that they used 82, 82 and 51 mm mortar bombs at few places along the IB. BSF troops retaliated, resulting in exchanges which continued till Sunday morning, he said, adding that there was no loss of life to BSF troops. Two villagers were injured and hospitalised in the mortar shelling, he said. Yesterday, Pakistan had resorted to heavy firing and mortar shelling at nine Indian Border Outposts and civilian areas in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. The Border Security Force (BSF) had retaliated effectively to the firing by Pakistan Rangers in which a school bus, a private minibus and tractor were also damaged and some cattle heads killed or injured, security officials said. India has again reiterated that there would be no talks on bilateral issues unless Pakistan stopped exporting terror to India. Besides exporting terror to India New Delhi wants Islamabad to wind up all the arms training camps set up during the last over two decades for providing training to militants who were later pushed into Jammu and Kashmir. New Delhi also wants Pakistan Army and the Rangers to honour the ceasefire agreement and avoid providing any moral and material support to militants by way of equipping them with sophisticated weapons and by assisting them in sneaking into Jammu and Kashmir. This way New Delhi has left the ball in the court of Islamabad and has suggested to Pakistan not to hold India guilty of not resuming bilateral talks.
