They said that High court has also set aside some government orders which were issued earlier by different departments. The speakers urged the government to implement the judgment in letter in spirit in the larger interest of public of J&K.
Speakers also appreciated the efforts done by Engineers who fought for this cause. They also quoted that reservations in promotion has deprived the general category incumbents of their constitutional right of equal opportunity in advancement of their career even after getting appointed on merit where as some reserved category candidates appointed by reservation are being further promoted to next higher post leaving general categories candidates to suffer the mental agony and sheer frustration. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Shaheen Khan CPO said that High court has awarded a remarkable judgment and general category people are happy with this justice given to them by High Court.
