The statue of the brave heart martyr was garlanded and rose petals offered as a mark of the expression of reverential remembrances of his offering the supreme sacrifice in giving a toughest fight to Pakistani sponsored Kabaylees in 1947 as a result of which Kashmir was saved from getting into the hands of Pakistan.
On the occasion many local residents also joined the group and the speakers Principal Bhat and Shiban Khaibri threw light on the nefarious designs which Pakistan has been employing against India right from 1947 till date and expressed the firm hope that the example of Brig. Rajinder Singh's ancestral home, where he was born, studied and from where he had joined the army. That is now converted into a memorial hall and the group was highly impressed and paid floral tributes in the memory of the legendary soldier, son of the soil.
