Sainik School Nagrota hosts Jammu Sahodaya Athletics Meet 10/26/2015 11:42:33 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 26 : The Jammu Sahodaya Athletics Meet 2015 got off to a colourful start at Maj Somnath Sharma (PVC) Stadium of Sainik School Nagrota in which twenty schools affiliated to CBSE from Jammu region including the host school are participating in this three day long track and field events. Col Kapil Dev Koushal, Principal, Sainik School, Nagrota delivered the inaugural address and urged the athletes to participate in this competition with true sportsman spirit and uphold discipline and comraderie. Following an impressive March Past by the participating schools, the Meet was declared open by Mr Trilok Singh Bisht, Principal, Jodhamal Public School who is also the President of Jammu Sahodaya Schools Complex. Shri Vivek Arora, Principal Barghava Public School Samba was also present to grace the occasion. The first day's events started off with 200m run heats for Boys in which out of 40 participants, the best six athletes qualified for the finals to be held on 27 Oct 2015. Cadet Abdul Manan of Sainik School Nagrota brought the first Gold medal for the school in Shot Put (Boys) while Master Anil Bhuwal of APS Nagrota won Gold in 3000m run in which Cadet Ankush Kotwal of the host school won Silver. In the Girls category, Miss Anamika of APS Jammu Cantt bagged Gold in Shot Put while Miss Mansi Tiwari of APS Akhnoor won Gold in Triple Jump.
