Says, he is unaware about Central assistance for JK | MoS Finance admits 'helplessness' | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Oct 26: The MoS Finance Pawan Gupta on Monday admitted that he is not aware about the issues pertaining to the Central assistance for the Jammu and Kashmir. Talking to Early Times over phone Gupta said, "Since the day I have taken over as the MoS Finance I have never been taken into the confidence about the issues pertaining to the Central assistance for the Jammu and Kashmir. I can say that my senior Minister alone deals with the Centre over the economic issues of the State. I am not at all involved in what is transpiring between him and New Delhi." The MoS Finance exuded hope that Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his forthcoming visit to the State would announce a special economic package for the development of the State. He claimed that if he would have gone to New Delhi for the package, things would have been different. "I don't know what is the final outcome regarding the package but yes if I would have visited New Delhi I would have used my good relations with the BJP people to get a handsome package for Jammu and Kashmir," the Minister claimed. He said that the Government is committed to peace, prosperity and development of State. "We are very much committed for the progress and development of Jammu and Kashmir. Coalition Government is fully aware of problems being faced by the people and all out efforts are being put to mitigate the sufferings of the people." He reiterated the commitment of the coalition Government to ensure holistic development of all the regions of the State with special focus on remote, far flung and rural areas. "State is on the path of peace, progress and development under this regime." |
