Early Times Report
Udhampur, Oct 26: Members of NGO Jiyo Aur Jeene Do (JAJD) appealed to the district administration to preserve the various historical monuments so as to encourage tourism in the area. Addressing the media persons, the president of NGO Tariq Shah said,"We are living in such a state which is known for its tourism and especially Udhampur, there are a lot many places which are of great historical significance but many yet have to get due space on tourism map." Citing examples, he said a very old heritage Fort is located at Laddan power house which has its own historical significance. Believed to be built in Tenth century the fort lies near the National Highway and calls every onlooker but unfortunately it is in such a poor condition that it can crumble any time thus administration needs to take step to save and preserve it.
