BSNL restores mobile service in State

New Delhi, Oct 26: State-run BSNL restored mobile services in Jammu and Kashmir after an hour-long congestion in its network post earthquake.
“Mobile services remained slightly congested in J&K circle for one hour. Otherwise all BSNL services (Land line and Mobile) are running smoothly and all BSNL establishments including towers are safe,” BSNL Chairman and Managing Director Anupam Shrivastava said in a statement. A massive earthquake measuring 7.5 on the Richter Scale today rattled north India, causing widespread panic. The earthquake epicentred in the Hindukush mountain range in Afghanistan struck at around 2.40 PM, sending ripples across Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR), Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan. Shrivastava said BSNL immediately reviewed its network in earthquake hit area and resolved glitches. Meanwhile subscribers of Vodafone in Delhi also complaint about problem in services for small period after the tremors were felt.
