Registrar Cooperative inaugurates vigilance awareness week | | | Early Times Report Jammu Oct 26: Registrar Cooperative Societies, Peerzada Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, inaugurated vigilance awareness week here today. The department of cooperative has devised this week long program for celebration of vigilance week across the state and an impressive function was held to inaugurate the celebrations at Jammu. Speaking on the occasion, Shah elaborated the provisions of “Preventive vigilance as a tool for Good Governance” which is theme of the Vigilance week 2015. He said that fight against corruption is seen as a job of few anti corruption agencies whereas in reality it is responsibility of every citizen and organization. He said that given the entrenchment of corruption in our society, for any strategy against corruption to be successful, sustained commitment will be imperative from all the actors of the society including government organizations, civil society, private sector and common man. He said that transparency and accountability is an effective tool against corruption. He further said informed citizenry is more crucial than the most sophisticated code of conduct, laws and regulation in preventing corruption and un-ethical behavior. He stressed upon all the departmental officers to widely disseminate the information on cooperative act and rules in order to minimize the scope of corruption. Among others Kamla Devi Special Secretary to Cooperative, Anjana Tickoo, Addl. Registrar Cooperative Societies, Inderjeet Bhagat, Joint Registrar Banking & Finance, R. K. Thapa Jt. Registrar Audit, Trishla Kundal Jt. Registrar Special Jammu spoke on the topic.
