Various organizations remember Indira, Patel | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 31:Former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi and Home Minister of India, Sardar Vallabbhai Patel were fondly remembered on the 31st death anniversary and the 140th birthday respectively by the social and political organizations across the state. Ramban District Congress Committee offered their floral tributes to the late Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi by garlanding and showering petals on her portrait. The function was managed jointly by the President, Ramban District Congress (Mahila), Narinder Kour and Rashid Malik,Vice President(Youth), Lok Sabha Constituency,Ramban-Udhampur. Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of iron man of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School Pouni. A variety of programmes were organised like Symposium, patriotic song and others. A pledge was taken by students and staff members. Principal and staff members addressed students and emphasised upon them to dedicate themselves to preserve the unity integrity and security of the nation. The Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh has said that the contribution of the late Sardar Valabbhai Patel would be remembered forever for his historic contribution in ensuring the integration of the country. The Deputy Chief Minister was speaking at the concluding function of Run for Unity organized here today in connection with the birth anniversary of Sardar Valabbhai Patel. The Run which started from the historic Mubarak Mandi concluded at Maharaja Hari Singh Park in which thousands of students from different schools and enthusiasts participated. Dr. Singh while recalling the contribution of the late leader said that he was instrumental in ensuring that the 562 princely states acceded to the union of India which is a major contribution in the modern history. "It was due to the tireless efforts of this visionary leader that he succeeded in ensuring the accession of so many princely states into the union of India, the step which has no parallels in annals of history and would be remembered by posterity forever", he maintained. Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua celebrated National Unity Day on account of Sardar Vallab Bhai Patel's Birthday. In Assembly children performed skits on unity with a theme union is strength. Children spoke on the topic. Principal Shuchita Gupta took an oath with children they should not fight with each other. The 140th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was celebrated by Bhagat Singh Shakha at Sunderbani. Bhagat Singh Shakha along with Bjp leaders pay tributes to the Iron man of India. This day is celebrated as National Unity Day all over the India. The Bhagat Singh Shakha childs activist Sachin Sharma, Shaksham, Parath, etc chants of "Sardar Patel Amar Rahe" and "Jab tak Suraj Chand Rhega, patel tera naam rahega". The rich tribute was paid to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her 30th death anniversary today by Youth Congress Unit in Samba. District Youth President Vinod Kumar and Sanjeev Sharma PCC Sec and along with several other members of Youth Congress Committee were paid floral tribute to the late Prime Minister Indra Gandhi on her 30th death anniversary at Samba. |
