Jammu, Oct 31: Police today claimed to have arrested four gamblers red handed alongwith stake money worth Rs 11, 570/- and playing cards during a raid under the jurisdiction of Hari Market area.
The police have ascertained the identity of the arrested gamblers as Inderpal s/o Balbir Singh of Narwal, Bharat Bushan s/o Khirati Lal of Shakti Nagar, Sukhdev Singh s/o Hari Singh of Narwal and Ranbir Singh s/o Harman Singh of Ekta Vehar.
Police said, "On specific tip off, a raid was conducted backyard of town hall complex in Gummat area where they arrested above said four gamblers were arrested red handed while playing cards.
"Police team also seized stake money worth Rs 11, 570/- from their possession and playing cards, police said.
A case under Gambling Act stands registered against the accused at concerned Police Station. |
