Jammu, Oct 31 : The NSS Unit of Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu celebrated National Unity Day by organizing "Run for Unity" in the college vicinity here today.
On the occasion, the NSS volunteers of college organized "Run for Unity" to pay tribute to Sardar Vallabbhai Patel, the Iron man of India and the country's First Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, for his unparallel contribution in unification of the nation and freedom struggle.
The programme started with Unity Pledge. Principal of College, Dr. Kiran Bakshi who was Chief Guest on the occasion flagged off the rally that accompanied by NSS Programme Officers Prof. Amitpal Kour and Dr. Ashaq Malik and other staff members went around the college campus harbouring some 5000 female students. |
