Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 4: In view of present security scenario with festive season at hand, opening of Darbar Move offices at winter capital and scheduled visit of Prime Minister to the State, M Sulaiman Salaria, IGP (Railways) today held a security review meeting at GRP Lines Jammu. Ashok Kumar Sharma, SSP Railways Katra, Suram Singh, SP Railways Jammu, SDPOs of Railways Jammu/Katra, SHOs of Railways Jammu/Katra, representative of RPF and other NGOs/incharges of GRP Jammu participated in this meeting. According to police spokesperson, the IGP (Railways) passed on the spot instructions/guidelines to the GOs, jurisdictional officers and other participants for safety and security of railway track, railway stations and running trains in the jurisdiction of GRP Katra and GRP Jammu, especially at Railway Station Jammu and Railway Station Katra, where the threat of sabotage by the ANEs/ASEs cannot be ruled out. He instructed Officers to ensure fool proof security arrangements at the railway tracks, railway stations and in the running trains by regular and effective access control system at the railway stations as well as by effective patrolling routine wise inside the running trains. The officers were directed to maintain close coordination with RPF, Railway authorities, district police and other security agencies who are also the stake holders in ensuring the safety and security of railways. "During the meeting the stress was laid upon the security of railway track which lies close to International Border as cross border terrorism along this stretch of the railway track cannot be ruled out, spokesperson said. |
