Why delay in reinvestigating Haji Yosuf murder case? 11/5/2015 12:14:05 AM Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 4: Before formation of present coalition regime in the state, ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had promised to re-investigate the much publicised Haji Yosuf murder case but even after passing of eight months no progress has been made in that sensational case. Family of the deceased Haji Yosuf was also expecting that justice will be done in that case but authorities have not taken any step to reinvestigate the much hyped case. Credible sources said that a group within the government is exerting pressure to again start investigation in that sensational case but one group is of the opinion that time is not appropriate to reinvestigate. This group argued that the case would be reinvestigated at the fag of the term of the present assembly so that big setback should be given to the National Conference before next Assembly polls. Important to mention here that on December 6, 2014, when Assembly elections were going on, the then Inspector General Crime Branch Raja Ajaz Ali had lashed out at the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for allegedly trying to brazen out the accusations against him and said no matter how clean imaged Omar Abdullah may try to present of himself, he will always stand out in history as the main accused in the Haji Yousuf murder case. "Go and check the records in Crime Branch, Haji Yousuf was with us only for twenty minutes. As soon as he reached the headquarters of Crime Branch, his health deteriorated and we immediately shifted him to hospital. His (Haji Yousuf) face and body language indicated that he was harassed, tortured and beaten up at the residence of Chief Minister," Raja Ajaz Ali had told Srinagar based news gathering agency adding that despite knowing the facts on what ground, Omar Abdullah is trying to mislead the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Raha Ahaz Ali, who is now a PDP leader, revealed that it was a fact on record that Haji Yousuf was summoned by Omar Abdullah himself to his Gupkar residence to settle some murky money dealings.
