Irked over shortage of power locals block NH 11/4/2015 11:48:11 PM Kathua, Nov 4: Irked over shortage of power supply for last few days in W- 13, the residents from Swan Chack Kathua today took to road and blocked National Highway 1A and sloganeering against Power Development Department, PDD and DDC Kathua to register their resentment. While addressing to media, Papu who led protest said that the transformer feeding the area got out of order for last few days whereas the matter was taken up with concerned authority but no action yet has been taken in this regard. "The sufferings remain continued that triggered blockage of National Highway, he added. He said no body from either district administration or PDD came to ask their grievances or the local MLA Rajeev Jasrotia. Reva Sharma, a house wife said people especially children are sufferings from shortage of power supply during their terminal examination. The protesters threatened to intensify their protest if PDD impediments to replace defunct transformer at earliest.
