| MVD organizes Road Safety awareness programme | | | Early Times Report
samba, Nov 4: An awareness programme on Road Safety was organized by the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) at Arvind Gosh Hr Sec School Vijaypur.
A large number of students and teaching staff of the school were also participated in the road safety awareness programme.
On this occasion SDPO Viajypur S.S Sambyal, DTI Jangveer Sumbria, Gurdeep Singh Principal of the School were present. During the function, virtual video clips about different road accident scenarios in Indian cities, presentations, documentaries regarding Road Safety and danger zone of school buses were screened to make students aware about the traffic rules and precautionary measures.
Resource persons advised the students to follow the safety norms as some accidents occur is witnessing the high accident rate on account of rash and negligent driving particularly on the National highway.
Kulddep Singh ARTO Samba in his address advised students to wear crash helmets as safety measures. Gurdeep Singh, Principal of the School thanked Motor Vehicle Department for organizing the programme. Later staff members and students also signed the pledge to make the roads safer for the commuters
Meantime it was also apprised that MV Department has intensified the road checking along with checking squad and Motor Vehicle Inspectors checked overloading in goods and passenger vehicles on highway and interior roads and also seized auto-rikshaws operating without valid papers |
