Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 4: A meeting of Airport Environment Management Committee was held today under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal. The agenda of the meeting was to take measures to ensure reduce wildlife strike hazard in the vicinity of the airport for safety and security of Airport and the passengers traveling to and from Jammu Airport. The meeting was coordinated by Devendra Kumar Gautam, Airport Director, and was attended by Mandeep kaur, Commissioner JMC, Dr. Baljeet Pathania, Director Health Department, Deepak Mohan, CEO Cantonment Board, representatives from Wildlife Department, Forest Department, Pollution Control Board and Airport security agencies. During the meeting various environmental issues concerning the Airport were discussed including the issue for covering and training of Landoi Choi Naala and diversion of the Naala coming from city side through Air-force side. Dr. Pawan Kotwal intimated that preparation of the project for these works is complete and the execution of the work shall also be done on priority basis. Airport Director, Devendra Kumar Gautam, took up the matter of Development of New Terminal Building for the Airport at Beli Charana area, for which Dr. Pawan kotwal assured all the possible help from State Government side for transferring the required land to Airports Authority of India. |
