As social media flooded with posts defending Paris carnage intelligence agencies serve caution notes to J&K Govt | Besides raising ISIS flags, Valley youth defend terror group on social media | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 16: Even as Director General of Police (DGP) has ruled out any influence of ISIS in Kashmir Valley in the wake of terror attacks claimed by the global terror outfit in Paris, intelligence agencies have asked the state agencies to remain on high alert. In the wake of Paris mayhem, intelligence agencies have sounded the state government to keep a strict vigil on the activities of those who have been repeatedly raising ISIS flags in Kashmir Valley. Earlier the intelligence agencies were taking such incidents lightly but now agencies involved in maintaining law and order in terror plagued state of J&K were asked to take this issue seriously because the dreaded terror organisation is slowly getting sympathisers in Kashmir Valley. DGP, while interacting with media persons at Kishtwar today said "We do not find any ISIS ideology (being followed) in Jammu and Kashmir," Highly placed sources said that intelligence agencies have cautioned state agencies to keep a strict vigil on social media because a large number of youth from Kashmir Valley are openly defending carnage at Paris. The way a large number of youth of Kashmir Valley are defending terror attack on Paris, is really a matter of worry for the intelligence agencies because number of those who are defending Paris attack is increasing with every passing day. Police authorities in Jammu and Kashmir were not taking raising of ISIS flags in the Valley seriously but after a caution note by the intelligence agencies, higher-ups in police department also awake from deep slumber, sources said and added that local intelligence have been asked to prepare a list of all those who have been raising ISIS flags in Kashmir Valley. Raising ISIS flags on every Friday has become a routine affair in Srinagar city. "The way social media is flooded with posts defending Paris attack especially from youth of Kashmir has added worries of security agencies", credible sources said and added that intelligence agencies were utilizing services of IT expert to reach to those youth who have been defending Paris attack. "Activities of some intellectuals are also under scanner for defending Paris carnage", sources said. Meanwhile in the wake of Paris terror attacks that claimed at least 129 lives, the Shiv Sena has said that it was time India dealt with periodic incidents of waiving of ISIS flags in Kashmir with an "iron hand". The Sena also noted that talks of human rights of terrorists should be shunned as they need to be rooted out completely. "ISIS, which has claimed responsibility for the Paris attacks, has lately become active in Jammu and Kashmir as well. The raising of ISIS flags in Kashmir is a very serious issue. After the human slaughter in Paris, we need to deal with this issue even more seriously," the Sena said in an editorial in party mouthpiece 'Saamana'. The editorial said that it was imperative for India to understand that Western countries' fight against terror was limited to their own interests and "we need to fight terror in our own way." "Many countries including Pakistan have condemned the terror attacks in Paris. One can only laugh when a country like Pakistan condemns these attacks because the neighbouring country is a factory that makes terrorists. But until these terror attacks happen on their soil, America and European nations won't understand India's pain," it added. |
