H&ME Deptt launches massive publicity campaign to highlight Lal Singh's 'achievements' | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 16: The Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Department has undertaken a massive publicity campaign to highlight the so-called achievements of Health Minister Lal Singh. Huge hoardings have come up at the Super Specialty Hospital (SSH) Jammu with Lal Singh's portraits ahead of the formal launch of grievance cell 'Hello Health Minister'. What is surprising, however, is that the hoardings have been erected despite a Supreme Court order which bans use of photographs of politicians, including Chief Ministers, Ministers and leaders of ruling parties in government advertisements. Reacting to the massive publicity campaign by the H&ME Department, a senior doctor told Early Times that while the health sector is facing shortage of medical supplies "the Health Department does not miss any chance to appease the Health Minister that too at the cost of state exchequer." Be it illuminating the health institutions or installing hoardings across the State to celebrate winning 'India Today Award-2015' in health sector by J&K, the H&ME Department is leaving no stone unturned to appease the Minister. Sources said the exchequer is being needlessly and meaninglessly wasted on the publicity campaign to project the so-called achievements of the Health Minister. Besides SSH, these hoardings have been put up at Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu and Bikram Chowk. Notably, the Health Minister and his close aides in the H&ME department are already facing criticism for going to Delhi to attend the award ceremony of the 'India Today Award-2015' at the cost of State exchequer. |
