Retrenched workers of JP Associates move to court to seek justice | Local court stays company management's decision up to Nov 19 | | Early Times Report Banihal, Nov 16: Continuing their protest against M/s JP Associates the retrenched workers of Construction Company handling Baglihar Project entered into fifth consecutive day while workers seeking justice also went to the Court of Law. Union leaders told media persons that protesting workers also have taken the matter to court of Sub Judge Ramban to seek justice regarding the final retrenchment compensation. The local court i.e. Sub Judge Ramban Yaya Firdous after hearing the counsel of petitioners stayed the decision of the company management till November 19. The court also summoned to the company management for submitting their objections before the court and the next hearing. The petitioners have submitted to the court that the company management has made an agreement with the union on dated 14/5/2008 for the retrenchment benefits but now the management is hesitant to pay the benefits to the workers according to the agreement agreed in past. |
