Elderly couple from PoK with young daughter held after illegal entry via Nepal route | | | Early Times Report Poonch, Nov 16: An aged couple alongwith their young daughter hailing from Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) was arrested in Mendhar of Poonch district when they were heading towards their native village after entering this side illegally via Nepal route. Sources said that the trio -a old couple and their young daughter was apprehended during intervening night 15/16 when they reached Mendhar tehsil of Poonch and arrested while they were on way towards their native village Salwah. Police sources said that the man had crossed over to other side in 1947 and were residing in Chitral district of PoK (Pakistan) since then," they said adding that the family had travelled to India via Nepal- route." Meanwhile Police sources have identified the apprehended trio as Mohd Aziz ((90) s/o Mukam Din, his wife Rashida Bi (70) and their daughter Hafiza Bi (26). "We are investigating the matter to find out his motive of returning back to his native place after such a long gap," a senior police official from Poonch said while confirming the apprehension of PoK based couple. "Mohd Aziz initially hailing from Salwah in Mendhar of Poonch district had crossed over to PoK in 1947, police officer said further adding, "and remained settled at Kotli for decades and had returned via Nepal route to Poonch. "The couple reportedly went Pakistan in 1947 and returned back along with their 27 years old girl whose birth took place in Pakistan, he added. |
