DGP downplays ISIS threat in J&K | | | Asif Iqbal Naik Kishtwar, Nov 16: Downplaying the threat of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in Kashmir, Director General of Police of Jammu and Kashmir K Rajendra Kumar today said that there is no threat from the dreaded terrorist organization in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the situation in Jammu and Kashmir is under control. While talking to "Early Times" on the side lines of today's inaugural function of District Police Office Kishtwar, the DGP while downplaying the ISIS threat in J&K said that every case is being investigated on merits. In response to Paris terror attack, Rajendra said that terror attacks are continuous process and are bound to happen. "Anti infiltration and counter terrorist operations are a continuous process, the situation is fully under control what I can say is that both crime and terror related incidents (terror actions) are also on decline" said Rajendra. On delay in caderization of Kashmir Police Officers (KPS), the DGP said that the proposal is under the active consideration of state government. Rajendra said amount needed for enhancing the pay of SPOs is in the PM's package. On installation of CCTV cameras at key locations in Kishtwar and other Districts of the state, Rajendra said that the installation was delayed due to some problems with the contractor added that the department had issued re-tendering of the same and said that same will be installed shortly. |
