| GPGC organizes extension lecture | | |  Early Times Report
Rajouri, Dec 4 : The Department of Geology Govt. P.G. College Rajouri organized an extension lecture on the subject "Bio-Diversity-an Overview".Dr.Mushtaq Ahmed Chowdhary ,Associate Professor Department of Enviornmental Sciences Central University of Himachal Pardesh was the guest facult who was present ,besides teaching faculty and large number of students of the college participated.
The visiting professor with the help of power presentation discussed Bio-Diversity in general and threw light on the number of species present on the earth. He also explained the various causes of the extinction of species. Major among them being habitat destruction and anthropogenetic factors.This was followed by an interaction session.
While welcoming the guest faculty and the audience, the Principal of the College Professor Shabir Hussain Shah introduced the guest Professor with the audience and laid emphasis on the fact that the bio-diversity needs be be conserved at all costs. Professor Manzoor Ahmed Dar managed the stage. Those who spoke on the occasion included Professor Haqeeqat Singh HoD Chemistry, Dr. Umar Farooq Department of Botany, Mohd Altaf HoD Geology and Masood Ahmed Department of Geology. Others present on the occasion including Prof. Javed Iqbal Mughal, Prof. Assadullha Khan Deptt. of Chemistry, Prof. Z. A. Mirza Deptt. of Chemistry, and Dr. Y.P. Sharma HoD Commerce, Prof. Iqbal Raina Deptt. of Physics, Dr. Ghulam Abass HoD Persian, Prof. Rahila Mushtaq Deptt. of Zoology, Prof. Aasia Rashid Bhat Deptt. of Botany and others. |
