BJP ministers continue to get raw deal | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 4: Even as the BJP ministers took up the issue regarding delegation of powers to junior ministers, with Chief Minister, the BJP ministers are still given a raw deal. According to sources despite assurance that the equal treatment would be given to all areas and constituencies of the State and there will be no discrimination against any one, the PDP ministers continue to show a step motherly treatment to the constituencies represented by BJP in Jammu region. Sources said this style of functioning of the senior coalition partner has annoyed the BJP activists in general and legislators in particular who are going to raise the issue vociferously in the party meeting to be convened by Party national general secretary Ram Madhav with State leadership and legislators on February 13 here. Sources said the BJP legislators are bracing up to make it a stormy meeting as they feel totally neglected in the government as no [proper attention is being paid to the areas represented by them in development. They will take up the issue with Madhav and other visiting leaders from Delhi and impress upon them to make it clear on the coalition partner to respect the coalition dharma for the longer interests of the people of the State and its overall development. The BJP legislators are of the opinion that if the PDP leadership will also pursue the policies of Congress and NC which discriminated against the Jammu and Ladakh regions for their vested interests this will prove costly for the coalition. They will also urge the national leadership to take up the issue with the PDP senior leaders including Chief Minister so that there is no misunderstanding between the coalition partners in future. BJP legislators are perturbed over the style of working of PDP ministers saying that their main concentration remains on the development of a particular region and diversion of funds for that while the two other regions of the State are being neglected, sources said. Sources said while it is the case of transfers of officers, installation of transformers or construction works the BJP areas are being neglected while the preference is given to other constituencies. Sources said such an attitude of PDP leaders is slated to harm the political interests of BJP in Jammu and Ladakh regions. |
