'Jammu has no say in governance' 12/4/2015 11:55:38 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 4: The claim of the BJP that the people of Jammu province have got equal share with Kashmir in all spheres and at all levels is as spurious as it is despicable. It's an overstatement and no one, not even a naïve, will appreciate it. For, there is a wide gap between the ground situation and the claim. That the claim of the BJP is not well-founded can be seen from the representation of Jammu in the State Cabinet. Jammu has only 33 per cent representation in the State Cabinet that decides policy matters and takes decisions on vital issues and controls entire administration and affects transfers and postings. Since Kashmir has almost 66 per cent representation in the State Cabinet, it is in a commanding position. Besides, it is Kashmir that holds all the important portfolios and departments and has put its men at right places not only in Kashmir Valley but also in Jammu province. The claim of the BJP that Jammu got full share for the first time after March 1, 2015 also doesn't hold water. BJP legislators and Ministers, according to the sources are fed up of a few PDP ministers but people of Jammu believe that the BJP has betrayed its own constituency and nation as well for the sake of petty power.
