Jammu, Dec 4 : Two teams from Jammu Division namely Govt. City High School, Udhampur and Govt. HSS Bhalwal excelled in Role Play and Folk Song / Dance Competitions, respectively, on Adolescence Education held at NCERT, New Delhi. The said program was conducted on themes like Process of Growing up, Charms and Challenges of Adolescence, Healthy Relationships among Adolescents, HIV/AIDS-Stigmatization and Cause and impact of Drug abuse, Respect and Care for Elders, Female Foeticide and Protection of Environment. Prior to this the J&K State AEP Cell, J&K State BOSE had conducted these activities in all the 22 districts of the state through various DIETs of resepective districts. The J&K State BOSE had recently conducted the State Level competitions for all district level winners to represent at National Level. Virtually, Adolescence Education Program is being run by J&K State BOSE, monitored by NCERT, New Delhi and sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resource & Development, New Delhi. The project is being implemented in J & K State by J & K State BOSE under the guidance of Prof. Zahoor Ahmad Chat, Chairman, BOSE as Patron of the Project, Prof. Veena Pandita, Secretary, BOSE as Honorary Director, Kaneez Fatima, Director (Academics) as Project Coordinator, Dr. Yasir Hamid Sirwal and Aliya Qayoom as Project Officers. On this occasion Dr. Hrushikesh Senapaty, Director NCERT, New Delhi was the Chief Guest who vehemently highlighted the importance of Adolescence Education in the present contemporary era and said that the adolescents see the challenges before them in fresh ways and are responding with enthusiasm and imagination. |
