Protest against Govt for non-fulfilment of promises | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar, Dec 4: People of Padder today held a protest against the government for its failure to fulfil the promises made by it with regard to the establishment of a degree college and industrial training institute (ITI) at Padder and start of work on extraction of sapphire from Suncham Padder mines. The people, including youth, sarpanchs and panchs, gathered under the banner of Padder Association of Core Educated Rider (PACER) and chairmanship of Vinod Kumar at Gulabgarh Padder and held the protest. They marched through various areas of Padder and raised anti-government slogans, saying that promises made by it as regards a Degree College and an ITI for Padder and extraction of sapphire from Suncham mines had not been fulfilled. "The government had announced the Degree College for Padder and we are waiting for starting of classes which didn't happen as a result of which our students were forced take late admission in Kishtwar college," said Vinod Kumar and added that even local IGNOU centre owners had charged fee from some students and told them that their examinations would be held at the Padder degree college, but they too betrayed them as they were force to appear in examination at Kishtwar. Another person Kartar Singh said that the government had even promised for engagement of local youths for extraction of Sapphire from Suncham mines, added that all these promises were yet to be fulfilled. He said that works on power project in Padder and establishment of ITI college at Padder also proved to be hoax and threatened the government that in case the promises were not be fulfilled soo, they will come on streets. They also slammed the government for delay in distribution of Solar Lights sanctioned for Padder by the previous government. |
