| GHS organizes awareness campaign, holds anti-tobacco rally | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Dec 4: With the aim to provide helping hand to the students belonging to poor families and those who have lost their parents, management of Government High School Panjgrain today distributed sweaters among such students whereas an awareness rally on anti-Tobacco campaign and anti AIDS campaign was also organized.
The said school is located close to Line of Control in Tarkundi sector of Rajouri and programme was held under the chairmanship of School Headmaster Iqbal Mughal and Second. In this programme, all students of the school were identified who either belong to extremely poor families or are orphans and sweaters and other uniform items were distributed among all these students and their confidence was boosted so that they can work hard and excel in studies.
Later an awareness rally was also held which started from school premises and after passing through village Panjgrain culminated back in the school premises. Holding placards of awareness against AIDS and Tobacco, students raised slogans and made people aware about the ill effects of Tobacco usage and preventive measures from AIDS.
While addressing the students, Headmaster said that besides studies, co-curricular activities are most important for students and awareness among burning issues like Tobacco and AIDS is equally essential. He also added that out of the poor fund of the school, woolen items and sweaters have been distributed among the needy students and as a goodwill gesture schools staff also donated some money from their salaries and provided some sweaters among the poor and orphan students. |
