JAMMU, Dec 4: State boys and girls teams today left for participation in the 42nd Junior National Volleyball Championship to be held at Chappra in Bihar from December 8 to December 13. Prior to their departure, the team underwent a coaching camp which was organised by J&K State Sports Council at MA Stadium, here under the guidance of volleyball coach, Onkar Singh Gill.
Earlier, Joint Secretary of the State Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma along with members conducted screening of the teams. Among those present were Rashid Ahmed and Ravi Singh.
Mulkh Raj Sharma, Shafqat Hussain, Wasim Raja and Ramiz Tariq accompanied the teams as coaches and managers.
Meanwhile, as per a handout issued here today, the state boys team is placed in Pool-A and shall play against Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh before. Similarly, girls team is placed in Pool-C and shall take on Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Chandigarh and Haryana in league round.
President of the Volleyball Association of J&K, Sidharth Daluja and general secretary, Vijay Kumar Magotra wished the teams success in the upcoming event.

BOYS: Amandeep Singh, Navtej Singh (both Jammu), Akash Choudhary, Ajay Kumar, Shaffy Sandhu, Abhishek Bhardwaj, Sachin (all Samba), Murtaz Ahmed, Farhat Jahangir, Anil Kumar (all Poonch), Jaffar Iqbal (Udhampur), Umar Hamid (Baramulla).
GIRLS: Mitali Dhar, Sofia Choudhary Sofia Choudhry, Komal (all Jammu), Rifat Choudhary, Simran Bhagat, Muskan Chib, Vishali Bhau (all Akhnoor, Jammu), Rakhi Bagal, Monika Bagal, Arantika Bagal (all Samba) Harjinder Kour (Nagrota , Jammu). |
