DDC Kathua orders to shift mentally sick child to 'Psychiatry Hospital' | | | Early Times Report Kathua, Dec 14: Acting upon memorandum submitted by International Human Right Association (IHRA) J&K Chapter in regard to psychologically sick minor child who was chained by his own family members for years together, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kathua Romesh Kumar today directed District Red Cross Society to shift the sick child to Govt Psychiatric Diseases Hospital Jammu for his due treatment. According to spokesperson International Human Right Association (IHRA) J&K Chapter, the incident was brought into the notice of District Development Commissioner (DDC / District Magistrate (DM) Kathua Romesh Kumar through a memorandum submitted by a delegation of IHRA J&K led by Director IHRA J&K Sunil Sharma on the other day in which organization sought due medical treatment for sick child as the family is very poor to afford the costly treatment. Pertinently Identified as Chotu (11) s/o Sukdev of Jasrota Kathua was confined within four walls by his own family members for his mental illness for the last many. As per family members the child has unpredictable behavior including harming to others and even himself so he is always kept tied. Exhibiting an exemplary humanity, DDC Kathua directed Red Cross Society to shift the child immediately to hospital so as he could be given requisite medical treatment. And giving keen ear to delegation of IHRA J&K members, the DDC Kathua directed the Red Cross Kathua to shift the child patient to Govt Psychiatric Diseases Hospital Jammu for further treatment. |
