With BJP's blessings, JK spends Rs 50 lakh to protect Art 370 | | | Early Times Report
New Delhi, Dec 14: Apparently with the consent of the BJP, the State Government has so far spent a whopping amount of approximately Rs 50 lakhs in the legal battle to protect Article 370, to which the BJP publically called as "cancer". Abrogation of Article 370 is core of the ideology of BJP but the J&K Government, of which Saffron Part in an important party, has taken services of highly paid advocates of the country to protect this Article, apparently with the consent of the same BJP. The counter writ petition filed by a Delhi based NGO 'We the Citizen' against Article 35-A, the State Government has taken services of one of the prominent advocate of Supreme Court Fali S Nariman, who is highly paid advocate of the country. The nine page affidavit, which is in the possession of the Early Times, authenticate that it was settled by Fali S Nariman and Jehangir Iqbal Ganai, Advocate General of J&K Government. The affidavit was filed on behalf of Muzaffar Ahmed Wani, Additional Secretary Law, J&K Government. Credible sources in the corridors of power said that hefty fees was paid to the advocates who were hired by the Government to prepare reply of "We the Citizen" writ petition, which has challenged Article 35-A which is an offshoot of Article 370. Protecting Article 35-A is a clear living example of protecting Article 370. The self-styled disciples of Dr Shyama Prashad Mukherjee and Pandit Prem Nath Dogra have shamelessly demonized these two political stalwarts for the lust of power. Dr Mukherjee, founder of erstwhile Jan Sangh and present BJP, had sacrificed his life for the abrogation of Article 370 while as Sher-e-Duggar, Pandit Prem Nath Dogra, throughout his life, had fought to remove this Article. But the incumbent BJP leadership, after attaining power in J&K, is hell bent to make these two heroes as "villains". For getting votes of the emotive people of Jammu region BJP shamelessly projecting Dr Mukherjee and Pt Dogra as its source of inspiration but in reality the party is abandoning their ideology of total integration. |
