BJP MLAs snubbed for highlighting weaknesses of Ministers | Intolerance in party meeting | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 14: In the country debate over intolerance may have subdued for the time being but an act of intolerance was witnessed during a meeting of BJP legislators, which was called by the leadership on Sunday evening to discuss the coming Panchayat and Urban Local Bodies elections. The BJP leadership was so intolerant that it was not ready to listen to any negative thing about party ministers in the coalition. Credible sources told Early Times that during the meeting, some MLAs suggested that party ministers should change their style of working and establish direct contact with the masses. But the leaders who behaved in an autocratic manner and did not allow any MLA to speak anything against the party ministers immediately snubbed these MLAs. The source said that some MLAs pointed out that ministers are disconnected with the common masses and it will have dangerous ramifications in the coming Panchayat and ULB elections. These MLAs said that businessmen and power brokers have direct approach with the ministers while as senior workers have to wait for hours to tell their grievances to the ministers. But instead of listening to the genuine issues raised by the workers, a senior leader immediately gagged such MLAs and bluntly told that it was not appropriate platform to raise such an issue, said sources. After the meeting some MLAs were seen complaining that instead of giving them time to meet, ministers are giving more importance to power brokers and businessmen. They complained that party leadership is also not listening to them and giving importance to the ministers who have been working under the influence of business lobby and their kith and kin. |
